The Blog Tour Award. Thank you for appreciation

I have been waiting 15 days to write this post!

blog-tour

I have received a nomination for The Blog Tour Award, from Daniel Hyperion Sturm. I would like to say a big thank you to my nominator one more time for considering my blog worthy. Daniel is extremely talented person, his work is absorbing, and his words are speaking. His encouragement is the main reason why I decided to continue my blogging (until at list April 27, 2015).

I think that any virtual nomination is like getting a small gold crown on your head. Your life doesn’t change, but you become more noticeable. It goes without saying that blogging is incredibly interesting and entertaining. But in this post, it’s the first time I will write about me more than about other important (even more important than me) issues. I know, when it comes to accomplishments we are not supposed to brag, but it’s exactly what I’m going to do answering the award questions. Please, be ready.

Note: I will not publish a Russian version of this post. I did not even write it because I can brag only in foreign language.

Rules:

  1. Pass the tour on up to four other bloggers.
  2. Give your nominees the rules and a specific Monday to post (please, post your story on Monday May 11, 2015 or let your followers know when you post).
  3. Answer four questions about your creative process which lets other bloggers and visitors know what inspires you to do what you do.

    • How does my work differ from others in my genre?
    • How does my writing/creative process work?
    • Why do I write or create what I do?
    • What I’m working on at the moment?
  4. Compose a one-time post on a specific Monday (date given from your nominator) — my post is scheduled for April 27, 2015.

How does my work differ from others in my genre? It’s an interesting question, and I was pondering on it for about 10 minutes. Then, I suddenly realized that I have no a particular genre and I had to ponder a little more. I just want to write and draw pictures sometimes (if it seems to me my words don’t express the entire depth of the problem). And I think we are all different and unique. Maybe that makes us similar… Ah, now I’m totally confused.

How does my writing/creative process work? I’d like to say that I see a beautiful picture, or a work of art, or a funny cat, and that inspires me to write. But it would be slightly dishonest.

I would compare the process of writing my posts with doing 2500 piece puzzle. The only problem is that you don’t have a puzzle box that has a picture on it. So, you hardly realize what it’s supposed to look like in the end.

But the fact that you should end up having a coherent picture, makes you twist and twirl all the pieces in expectation of a miracle. (Yeah, that’s exactly how I call the final version of my posts.)

Why do I write? I can say that the only reason why I write is necessity to get what’s inside my head out in WordPress for other people to read. But it’s not the main reason. Blog for me is a great challenge because it’s bilingual, and I want to know if I can do this in proper way. I don’t consider myself as a writer. I’d like to think that if I pressed a publish button, this means I’m a published writer. But something doesn’t allow me think so. I just would be glad if my thoughts make someone smile or think of something in a new way.  Blogging is all about partiality. Our blogs are our children. For parents their child is the most beautiful and talented in the whole world. But when it comes to publishing we became the most relentless critics for ourselves. So, my blog for me is a continuous verification in order to know if I can keep staying on the bright side of the world and make someone’s day a little bit happier.

What I’m working on at the moment? At the moment, I’m working on my Monday post. I’d like to say I have a big project and I work hard to complete it, but it’s not the case. I’ll share with you an old Russian proverb “Let the morn come and the post with it”. That’s my blogging philosophy.

I would further nominate a lot of bloggers but, following the rules, here is my shortlist.

My nominees:

  1. Garfieldhug’s blog
  2. Polysyllabic Profundities
  3. The False Prophet
  4. The Simple Beginner

I was given the date for my post: 27 April 2015. I hope the time zone difference and my hard translation to English work will not cause me to publish my Monday post on Wednesday…

  1. Thank you Marta for your kind words and the insight into a brilliant yet humble mind. I identify strongly with a lot of what you say about publishing my rampant and incoherent thoughts. Just as you describe, I fiddle with the puzzle pieces and sometimes think I am done only to edit 200 more times. I mourn each post as it rests stillborn on the WordPress floor and then wonderful people like yourself give the lost child of my thoughts life with a kind like or gracious comment. I insist you continue your blog. You must for your dear reader’s sake. Your wit and humor along with intelligent and thoughtful subjects is a warm smile, a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. Besides, as much as I love vodka, it loses some of its magic when I drink it alone. And, don’t worry if your post on Monday arrives on Wednesday, it will be welcomed with enthusiasm. Cheers – Daniel 🙂

    • To be “a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day” for someone is exactly what makes me happier. Wnen I am “a ray of sunshine in a cloudless sky”, I will know I have achieved my goal. But that means I should level up 79 levels higher 🙂

  3. I have never seen the award before, but I love the questions of it. I also love the exclusivity of it as you don’t have to come up with a list of 30 favorite blogs. 😉 Loved your analogy of the jigsaw puzzle and writing…absolutely beautiful!
